For lovers of active recreation and mountaineering, we offer this program, during which we will both climb the highest peak of Greece, Olympus, 2918 meters high, and at the same time tour the second largest city of Greece, Thessaloniki (built in 315 BC), we will get acquainted with a number of historical, cultural, religious places, visit the city of Pella, which was the capital of Ancient Macedonia and where Alexander the Great was born. Day 1

Yerevan - Thessaloniki - Getting to know the City

As with other tours, this time we will also spend most of the first day on the road. After two flights, we will reach the Greek city of Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and the capital of Northern Greece. It is located on the shores of Thermaikos Bay and has a rich history, culture and economy. The city is named after Thessalonica, the sister of Alexander the Great. Having settled in the hotel, having arranged our things, we will begin to explore the city. These days we will see the white tower, the symbol of the city, the Roman Forum in Thessaloniki, the Hagia Sophia, we'll take a walk around Aristotle Square and so on. We will finish the day of culture with dinner at one of the restaurants in the city center.

Day 2

Vergina and the Monastery of St. John the Forerunner

Our second day takes us on an exciting trip to Vergina, where we will visit the Royal Tombs of the Macedonian kings, including the tomb of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. We will also explore the palace complex of ancient Aigai, the first capital of Macedonia. Afterwards, we will head to the 15th-century Monastery of St. John the Forerunner, immersing ourselves in its medieval atmosphere. In the evening, around 17:00, we will transfer to the Olympic Riviera - to Panteleimonas or Platamonas - where we will check in at a seaside hotel and relax by the Aegean Sea.

Day 3,4

Climbing Mount Olympus 2918 m.

2 days are planned for the climb of Mount Olympus. Although the height of the mountain is 2918 meters, it should be taken into account that the relative height is about 2400 meters. On the first day, we will head to the Agapitos camp, which is located at an altitude of 2100 meters and is the base camp for the ascent. After spending the night in the camp accommodation on the first day, we will wake up early the next morning and start the ascent to the home of the Olympian gods, the highest peak of Mount Olympus, Mytikas. We assure you, after the ascent you will have unforgettable memories and impressions that will remain in your mind for a long time. After the ascent, we will descend to the base camp, have lunch, descend and head to the seaside hotel.

Day 5

Relaxation by the Sea

The fifth day is dedicated entirely to leisure and relaxation. We will enjoy the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, sunbathe on the beach, and spend the day at our own pace.

Day 6

Meteora

On the sixth day, we set out on an unforgettable journey to Meteora, located just 2–2.5 hours away. We will visit two monasteries perched dramatically on top of towering cliffs, admire breathtaking panoramas from observation points, and have time for lunch and a stroll in the village of Kalambaka at the foot of the rocks. In the evening, we will return to the seaside, full of vivid impressions and new experiences.

Day 7

Relaxation by the Sea

The seventh day is left free for relaxation. Everyone can enjoy the sea and the sun, take peaceful walks along the coast, or simply rest in the calm and serene atmosphere of the Aegean seaside.

Day 8

Thessaloniki - Yerevan

After seeing the country's second largest city in northern Greece, climbing to the highest peak, getting acquainted with historical cities, the region of Macedonia and relaxing on the beach, we have to return home with a suitcase full of memories.

Participants must have sleeping bag, backpack (big and small), mountain climbing boots, warm mountain uniform, jacket, hats (both summer and winter), comfortable hiking gloves, jersey, sunscreen cream, headlamp, hiking poles, thermal underwear, mask, trekking sunglasses, hiking gaiters, mountaineering helmet, 3 carabiners, safety harness.
