Climbing Mount Vayotssar

On Sunday, May 4, with Hatis Tour, we will travel to Vayots Dzor province to visit Vayotssar mountain. This extinct volcano is located on the border of Yeghegnadzor and Vayk districts, southwest of Herher village. It stands at 2,586 meters with a truncated cone shape and a funnel-shaped crater about 125 meters deep. If time permits, we will stop at Herher Reservoir, which has a total capacity of 26 million cubic meters, and visit the lesser-known Surb Sion Church (8th–10th century), notable for its beauty and perched on a rock. We will also make a stop at the Vayk food court along the way.

Participants must have: backpack, mountain climbing boots, hiking poles, warm mountain uniform, jacket, hat (summer, winter), gloves, sunscreen cream, lamp, raincoat, sunglasses, one-day food and water
